Being prepared as a family is a lot more than having adequate food storage (though that is HUGE), it's also a matter of being prepared for potential accidents and/or injuries. I can't stress hard enough how important this is. It's not a matter of if, but when disaster strikes (whether it's huge like economic collapse or small like your child gets injured playing outside). When it does happen, you're going to want to have as good of a first aid kit as possible in your home, car and maybe even in your cubicle or office at work too. There is really no such thing as being too prepared. Especially when you can get a lot of these items at the dollar store for cheap.
