Makes me wish I'd picked up a lemon balm plant when I saw it at the local Wal-Mart earlier in the summer. :-)
And here's a great article from The Survival Mom about how to still be able to cook your food when your power is out. Seems like such a simple thing, but I think we'd all be amazed how much of our daily lives revolve around having electricity.
I totally want to try these! Maybe I can get my husband to bring home some boxes, maybe an old coffee can or two from his office so I can try. The Wonder Oven sounds pretty interesting too. :-)
I love the host, Sylvia Britton... maybe it's her southern accent, but she just reminds me of that kind, slightly eccentric aunt or something that you really just totally love her... not only for her wisdom, but her sense of humor as well. :-)
Here's one for the intellectuals... I found it pretty interesting actually. I guess stories about the sun & the solar system have always fascinated me to some extent. :-)
And this last is completely un-related, but man... do I ever wish I'd seen this last spring!

DIY Natural.com - Natural Blemish Treatments
I know, I'm all over the board yet again, but I found this to be very interesting. Might even recommend it to my pre-teen niece. Just in case. Couldn't hurt to have the info anyway right? :-)
Well I found some more pretty interesting articles for you and maybe even a video or two (or 5... LOL!). :-) Hopefully you'll find them interesting as well.
And I know I'm sort of all over the place with this post, but here's a youtube video (or maybe more) that I thought might be useful...
DIY Self-Watering Garden Container
From Mountain Woman Journals' Tammy Trayer... Some fire starting methods in case you need them... I'd highly recommend checking out Tammy's youtube videos a long with her blog/website at mountainwomanjournals.com. Lots of great information there.

MWJ Survival Series #3 - Traditional Fire Starting Methods
And I recently started a new Facebook page because my friends and family expressed an interest in buying some of my homemade DIY goodies. I'd love it if you checked it out... I call it: Wild Roses Iowa. Let me know what you think. I'll probably add more items as I learn to make them, so please stay tuned! :-)
I wasn't really planning to update tonight/ this morning, but when I was messing around on pinterest (seriously WAY too easy to kill time there... LOL!), I found a goodie or two that I totally had to share. :-)
How to harvest Dandelion - Mountain Woman Journals.
If you'll remember, my last post contained a rather useful bit of information about how truly useful Dandelions are, so I thought this video was particularly great. Thanks to Tammy Trayer from Mountain Woman Journals. Be sure to catch Tammy's radio show (of the same name... Mountain Woman Journals) on The Survival Mom Radio Network along with other great shows from a really great bunch of ladies that I truly enjoy hearing from each week. It's my favorite thing to tune in to when I actually have my "me time". ;-)
